Vacation from Vacation?

It still feels like we just got here and most days feel like vacation.  We do not have internet, phone, or a full kitchen at home and have no social, family, or outside work obligations.  We unabashedly admit to spending last Saturday in the following manner:  step class and power yoga at the gym, dip in the pool, soak in the hot tub, brunch on the lanai (patio), read a book, nap, and an evening stroll on the beach to stargaze.

Our apartment is small (it's a studio) and is missing a stove top and oven.  The Verizon Wireless tower is blocked by the mountain.  But that same mountain blocks the city lights at night revealing a star-filled sky.  We are surrounded by older beach cottages and newer multimillion dollar homes. A ten-minute walk gets us to several beach access alleys and a twenty-second walk gets us on the water slide and into the pool.  Sitting on the lanai feels very secluded.  We refer to it as "the estate".

our front door is the open door to the left of the stairs.  the driveway is steep!

the moving truck is coming with our 2 1/2 crates

the lanai

But we couldn't let A's "use or lose" time go to waste, so tomorrow we leave for two-plus weeks in Thailand.  We will try to post from there and will post pictures when we return.

We are truly thankful for so many things and to so many people that have allowed us to get to where we are today.  Happy Thanksgiving.
