Today is our second Sunday, December 13th. We arrived home from Bangkok this morning three hours before we left. Many thanks to KFB for encouraging us to go to Thailand; we had an absolutely wonderful time on what was effectively our first vacation together.
In the north we hiked through the mountains, bathed in waterfalls, rode an elephant, camped with a hill tribe (sort of), rode a bamboo raft, ate Israeli food (because we haven't found any yet in Hawaii), took a cooking class, and wandered through the streets eating good, cheap food from the street vendors. We will dedicate a post to food (and some of A's 250 pictures of food) soon. We met some really nice people, both Thai and European (Hi Jarmila & Josef! Hi Boukje!). We had culture shock traveling to the beaches in the south which created a longing to be back in Bangkok.
