Winter is here?

Back in May we poked fun at the local weather reporters since the forecast rarely strays from idyllic low-80s and mostly sunny days.  As a result we almost never consult the weather reports because when it's not perfect the forecasters seem to be guessing.  In what is now the rainy season a five-day forecast might read:
Monday - Passing shower
Tuesday - Rain possible
Wednesday - Maybe rain
Thursday - Slight showers
Friday - Partly cloudy.
This has no bearing on the actual and current weather.

But we still had to laugh when Hawaii News Now declared:

"Baby, it's cold outside!" at least through Saturday
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - "Baby, it's cold outside!" The very cool temperatures we experienced overnight will continue today and tonight. Highs across the state will mostly be in the low to mid 70s. Overnight lows will reach down toward 60 again. The northerly flow of cool, dry air will last until mid-day Saturday when the winds will turn westerly.

A is still wandering around the house wearing only shorts, but R has taken advantage of the cold snap to put on both a sweater and closed-toe shoes, a first after more than one year here.

  1. I recommend lying on your couch in your bathing suit (and maybe a sweater or two)
