Update on the past week

Since we last posted we've put hundreds of kilometers on the car. We've gone across the bottom of the South Island to an adorable cottage on the Otago peninsula to Mount Cook, Christchurch, the Banks peninsula (where we slept in a 3-sided hut with
a view of the stars), and now we're spending a rainy few days in Picton before catching the ferry back to the North Island. We've seen seals and two kinds of penguins along with lots and lots and lots of sheep, cows, and deer. We've gone from 10,000 ft mountains to green rolling hills to the shore past fiords, lakes, and rivers.
