First Race... and Last Race

This Saturday we completed the Ford Island Bridge 10K Run.  Back in 2010 this was our first road race after we moved to Hawaii.  The 2013 race was LP's first stroller race and, sadly, our last race here.

We made LP and her friend Lily race bibs for their first race.

All three of us ran together and since we had a stroller we started in back of the pack

The course first took us across the Fort Island bridge from where we got a good (last) look at the Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri

Once we crossed onto Ford Island, the race route took us near USS Missouri

and then continued past the historic marker for the USS California

We then continued along side the runway, and past the control tower, historic hangars, and the Pacific Aviation Museum.

After the race LP met up with her friend Lily and exchanged napping tips for future races

With the exception of weaving around walkers in the beginning, this mostly flat race was a lot of fun. LP showed her good spirits by napping through most of the race.
