More Pirates?

There was lots of "excitement" at the beach the past few days.  This weekend local news KITV reported debris floated onto the beach at nearby Kalama Beach Park in Kailua.  Kids played on it as if it were an ocean jungle gym and adults pondered what the mysterious object could be.  Made of carbon fiber and covered in barnacles it was certainly a curious attraction that broke up the continuous beach.

After days of research DLNR says it's the hull of a trimaran.  It would have been more fun if it had been something more exciting.  Like part of pirate ship.
