Don't Blink or You'll Miss Lana'i City

This is (finally) the last post in our Lana'i series.  Hopefully the New Zealand adventures will be posted without too much further delay.

Lana'i is remote and it seems to operate with its own rules.
Take this guy, for example.  Why use a golf cart when your sedan will do just fine?

Lana'i City has the island's two markets, all restaurants except for those at the two Four Seasons', and all of the island's services.  Most places are closed on Sunday.  (Non organic) milk is a bargain at $8.65/gallon.

The Maui Community College is literally a one-room schoolhouse.

Pineapples are growing in front of the town hall.

All roads meet up in Lana'i City and we passed through the town multiple times a day.  Each time we left the Lodge on foot we said hi to the horses.

We left the island from the sprawling Lanai Airport and jumbo jet that took us back home.
