Mariner's Ridge Trail

View of Windward Side from the top of the ridge
While we continue to sort thru our NZ photos here is a short blog about the Mariner's Ridge trail.

The hike to the Ko'olau summit starts at Mariner's Ridge subdivision in Hawaii Kai.  There is a "No Trespassing" sign at the beginning of trail but to our knowledge this is a public hike.  As we approached the top the trail switched from dirt and rocks to ironwood trees.  We were rewarded with the excellent views of the Oahu's Windward side.  This short hike, under 3 miles round-trip, is good even for a beginners and popular with locals.
