A perfect Hawaii day

We took our kayak to the North Shore and paddled from Haleiwa to Waimea Bay, about 3 miles each way. We paddled into the wind so it took approximately 2 1/2 hours to get there and only an hour back. En route we got caught in a rain, saw a honu (turtle) and a pod of spinner dolphins who were showing off their acrobatic skills. At Waimea Bay beach A finally had the chance to jump 15-20 feet from the popular jumping rock. (Thank you, Bing commercial, for reminding him he still needed to cross that off his Hawaii wish list.) As mentioned, the paddle back was easier. We spotted more honus back at the beach. The cherry on top was the rainbow that came out when we were repacking the car. Add some Banzai Sushi and yummy ice cream for a truly perfect day. That, and a stop at Target.
